Here are the top spots to try the steak that won’t leave you disappointed…

Its offerings are a blend of traditional techniques and modern twists, ensuring each dish is both familiar and exciting. As for steak lovers, you’ll want to order the filet entree. This steak is served with potato pavé, carrots, mustard jus, and herbs. CAUCUS CLUB

150 West Congress Street, Detroit 

Founded in 1952, the Caucus Club was the sister restaurant to the famed Detroit steakhouse, London Chop House. After a complete renovation and reopening of its doors in 2017, the Caucus Club is back and committed to serving with excellence. You can order the tenderloin steak bites as hors d’oeuvres, which are served with wild mushrooms, cipollini onions, and a demi-glace. The steaks are dry-aged in a Himalayan salt room for 18 or 30 days depending on the cut. There are plenty of options for enhancing your steak with sauces and add-ons, but you’ll likely find the steak stands up alone in its glory. 

CHURCHILL’S BISTRO CIGAR BAR

Just from the name alone, Churchill’s Bistro Cigar Bar might not strike you as a place to get a great steak. But once you step inside and take a look at the menu, it’s clear that this establishment has a handle on serving a great cut of meat. The steak bites are seasoned and grilled with caramelized onions, then served on a bed of spicy arugula and topped with Churchill’s zip sauce. All of the beef is dry-aged for 28 days in their own Himalayan salt room. They cook the steaks to perfection and serve them with fingerling or mashed potatoes, seasonal vegetables, and your choice of Béarnaise, whiskey peppercorn, or zip sauce. And in case you were curious, yes, you can also get cigars and men’s accessories at Churchill’s as well. 

TOASTED OAK

27790 Novi Road, Novi 

Farm-to-table restaurant, Toasted Oak in Novi is a fusion of American and French cuisines using only the freshest ingredients. In the warmer months, you can see the items this establishment grows for the restaurant in the garden boxes outside by the patio. The menu is always seasonally inspired by flavors and ingredients most common during the time of year. There’s always a steak on the menu accompanied by the perfect sides that make you feel comforted and elegant at the same time. Currently, you can order the U.S.D.A. Prime 14 oz. New York strip that is pan seared and finished with an herb butter, served on a jus lie’ sauce, and paired with aged white cheddar potatoes and herb broccolini, or the grilled 8 oz. center cut filet, which is served with redskin potatoes, roasted baby carrots, and beef jus sauce.

CLAWSON STEAKHOUSE

56 South Rochester Road, Clawson

A classic steakhouse with a history dating back decades, the Clawson Steakhouse is a landmark in Metro Detroit’s dining scene. Its approach to steak is traditional and uncomplicated, focusing on quality cuts, perfect seasoning, and precise cooking. The warm, inviting atmosphere adds to the charm, making it a favorite for both special occasions and casual dinners. If you just want a steak appetizer, order the cajun steak tips, which are hand-cut in house, seasoned with cajun spices, and served with béarnaise sauce. If that isn’t enough steak for you, this steakhouse has it all. Choose from the New Yorker, Filet Mignon, Bone-In Wagyu New York, or Porterhouse, to name a few. All steaks are hand-cut in house and charred, and the original Clawson recipe seasoning “Blackened” is also available on steaks.
